Drivers Education Classes Offered

Red River Driving Academy provides an integrated course schedule of learning through exploration, scrutiny, and self-reflection. Our classes combine hands-on experience with knowledge-based teaching - take a look at our offerings and contact Red River Driving Academy to learn more.

Classes are held at 5704 Jackson St. Alexandria, LA Alexandria LA, 71301 Outstanding balances must be paid by cash or debit card at the time end of class.  

38 HOUR DRIVERS EDUCATION COURSE:

38 hours which includes 30 hours of class room instruction and 8 hours of behind the wheel driving. This course is for 15 year olds and up.( Must be 14 & 9 months & Freshman ) must complete the state required course called a 38-Hour Driver Education Course. We offer more than just the state required program to assist our students in becoming a pro-active hazard seeking driver. You can register and pay on this website. We do require $100 down to reserve a seat in the class. Weekend classes will be held during the following days/times, except for Holiday Classes. It will take 2 weekends to complete one class (4 days) plus 8 hrs. of behind the wheel instruction.

14 HOUR ADULT DRIVERS EDUCATION COURSE:

Pre-licensing course-6 hours of classroom instruction. This course is for 18 years and older students. With 8 hrs of driving (14 hrs total) Every Friday 10 am.

ABSENCE

If any necessary absence occurs during the classroom portion of instruction, contact the office to work out when the class time can be made up. A 24 hour notice must be given if the student needs to cancel a drive. Students are allowed one cancellation at no charge. If student cancels a second time, a $25 fee will be charged. If a student is ill, please advise the school as soon as possible. No certificate will be awarded until the course requirements are met.

DISCLAIMERS

Completion of any course does not guarantee that a driver’s license will be awarded to a student nor will this course count for any school credit. Students may qualify for a discount on auto insurance premiums; contact your agent for details.

DISCIPLINE & POLICY

All students must be respectful of each other and instructor at all times. No tobacco usage is allowed. Students will not be allowed to leave premises during classroom instruction unless instructor is notified (lunch time is exempt). No cell phone usage or texting allowed in class or behind the wheel. Any cell phone activity that is seen will be dealt with in the following manner: cell phone will be placed on table top, if asked not to use phone a second time it will be taken by instructor and held till end of class time and will be returned to the parent or responsible party after class. Cheating on tests or quizzes will not be tolerated. Anyone caught will be asked to leave the program and will forfeit all fees paid.


If the student does not receive a score of 80% or better on the written portion of the classroom instruction, the course must be retaken. The student must score 70% or better on driving portion of class, If not passed the course must be retaken.
